Fair & track history, and driver memories of racing at the

historic 1/3 mile oval track at the Danbury Fair!

The Great Danbury State Fair in Danbury Connecticut ran for over 100 years every fall

until closing in the early 80’s.  The Fair had everything for everyone! Livestock.  Quaint

villages.  Thrilling rides & amusement games. Homemade food at every turn.  And of

course, the Danbury Racearana, where the daily parade would culminate & folks of all

ages witnessed the widest & wildest variety of entertaining shows the country had to

offer.  In 1908 the track introduced horse racing, later Midget racing, Speedboat racing

and eventually Stock Car racing, with amazing Saturday Nights At The Races!
